Fire Safety Training Course

The Fire Safety Training Course is designed to raise awareness of fire hazards in the workplace and how to act safely in the event of an emergency fire situation, including selecting and using the correct fire extinguisher. This course is also designed to train staff in fire safety procedures.

Course Content: 

  • The chemistry of fire 

  • Identification of fire hazards in the workplace 

  • Following evacuation procedures 

  • How to raise the alarm. 

  • Selection and use of the correct fire extinguisher, fire blanket in the event of a fire emergency situation only if it is safe to do so on an undeveloped fire.  

  • Overview of the fire safety legislation 

  • Development and spread of fire 

  • Action in the event of a fire 

  • Means of summoning the fire brigade 

  • Action on hearing the fire alarm 

  • Evacuation procedures 

 

The course combines theory and practical demonstration in the use of foam and CO2 fire extinguishers.  

Course Duration: 3 Hours 

Training courses can be delivered on site. 

This course is for all employees, regardless of the industry type.   

 

Assessment:  

Assessment is by a multiple-choice test and practical demonstration using fire extinguishers. 

 

 

Refresher Training & Certification Validity Period: 

Refresher training is recommended at intervals of not greater than 3 years

Notes on Fire Safety / Fire Prevention are provided to course participants 

 

Certification: 

 Irish Health & Safety Solutions Certificates in “Fire Safety” are awarded to participants on successful completion of the course.
