Food Safety Training

Food Safety and HACCP training is a legal requirement under Regulation (EC) 852/2004. The legislation requires that all food handlers must be supervised and instructed in food safety training relevant to their work activity. Under legalisation employees who are responsible for developing and maintaining HACCP procedures should receive adequate training in the application of food safety management. Food safety courses must ensure that food handlers have the knowledge and skills to work confidently, effectively and safely with food. It’s the responsibility of all employers to ensure their employees are trained in Food Safety.  

Irish Health & Safety Solutions provide the following training: 

The Primary Food Safety Level 2 Course 

The Primary Course in Food Safety Level 2 is certified by the professional body for Environmental Health Officers, the EHAI.  

Irish Health & Safety Solutions is licensed by the EHAI to deliver this course 

 

The Primary Food Safety Level 2 Refresher Course 

The Primary Course in Food Safety Level 2 Refresher Course is certified by the professional body for Environmental Health Officers, the EHAI. Irish Health & Safety Solutions is licensed to deliver this course.  

The course is for food handlers who have completed the primary course (or another Level 2 food safety course) within the last five years .The Refresher Course updates their knowledge and skills. This certificate is valid for another 3 years.    

These courses must be delivered on site or at a designated venue. 

Additional food safety or hygiene training not on our list of courses can be discussed according to your training needs. Should you require Allergen awareness training, or Chemical training, please contact us for a proposal.

This legal requirement trains food handlers in the skills and knowledge of food safety and HACCP.
